@ 2010GOP “The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States.” I’m sure if you google that quote you’ll be able to figure out where it came from.

look at all those old balding white haired men in the audience. they took our jerbs!

Runes: I do know what I am talking about — I look at facts, statistics & history
There’s a delicate balance on the amount of Govt intervention/taxes — a balance that creates prosperity. That balance is outlined in our Constitution which is how the U.S. became a prosperous nation in only 233 years. Liberal policies have erroded through the years
European countries have identified that balance — take a look domestically as well & ask yourself why ‘Red’ states are stronger economically
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
@alexeipg Most European countries have large centre-right and centre-left parties, which is why this guy might be fooled into thinking that theres a changing in course since in Europe both parties will get time in government from time to time.
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
@2010GOP Actually, no offense but you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Lower taxes does not always lead to stronger economies, to try and make that conclusion is childish, simplistic and shows little understanding of economy.
I actually like the idea of the invisible hand, but im a realist. Theres cases in which lowering the taxes too much is detrimental.
Look at the miracle of Chile, for an example of how an economy can collapse under too little economic intervention.

Switzerland is where U.S. corps go to evade taxes! The U.S. statutory corporate income tax rate is 35 %, but the effective corporate tax rate has averaged just 26 % since 1993. Corporate tax receipts dropped from an average of 4.8 % of GDP during the 1950s to 1.3 % of GDP in FY2003 while payroll taxes increased from 1.6 % of GDP in FY1950 to 6.8 % of GDP in FY2002. In other words, the burden has been shifted from rich to poor.
The countries you mentioned have better healthcare than us too.

The U.S. is the 2nd highest in the world:

Switzerland, which is 23rd, is successfully campaigning for corporations to relocate there, including U.S. corps — they understand competition, the need to keep tax rates competitive, including offshore.
Democrats want to tax everything into oblivion & create corporate villains into the minds of the less educated
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
Care to share with me what the actual corporate tax rates in those countries are? They’re still way higher than those in the U.S., where two-thirds of our corporations paid NO federal income taxes between 1998 and 2005.

my dad is one of them. i’m constantly shocked how he trusts EVERYTHING this charlatan says and never checks out one thing for facts. if something beck says is refuted, he simply doesn’t believe it. very, very frightening, and Beck knows he has these people eating out of the palm of his hand.
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
the horrifying thing is there are millions who do.
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
isn’t this community organizing?
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
Glen Beck = Antichrist
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
What a nut job…just a moronic nutjob…I question anyone who takes this guy seriously…
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
funny how in 30 seconds, he used community organization twice, hinting to one as bad and to the other( his convention) as good for no appearant reason for distinction,,, and the moronic masses were like yeeaaahhh
wtf
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
Indoctrination.
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
Ok, I’m confused. Glenn Beck makes a jab at Obama for “community organizing” (and the audience claps and hollers at the clever reference), yet he’s also serious about ACTUALLY community organizing… So, it’s a good thing?
Beck community organizing = O.K.!
Obama community organizing = NOOOOOOO >: (
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
He is preaching to the choir. Waste of effort. The more energy he wastes here the better off the U.S. is.
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
your collectivist doom, listen and despair.
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
And they said were on the road towads socialism, we’ll actually be on the road towards FASCISM!
Think of how the USSR, China, Nazi Germany, and Fascist Italy brainwashed their own kind, its called “RE-education” people, and Beck wants to bring it to America, like he claims that Obama wants to bring Canada’s so-called “socialized medicine” to this country we love! Watch more CNN!

White people unit!
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
It’s like watching Hitler rise to power. He just needs a little work on creating some more passion in his speach.
Realize this is actually how Hitler came to power….it started with rallying closet biggots.
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
The only reason you would have to educate someone is if you think they are ignorant to a certain issue, so therefore Glenn Beck must think that his followers are ignorant to the facts which indeed they are!
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
This is just another conservative poisoning of America. Cons are f*cking us up. If ANYONE is the antichrist, it’s Glenn Beck.
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
Wish that bastard wouldn’t misuse history. Makes me furious.
December 8th, 2009 at 11:39 am
you got any better ideas there, chief? lemme guess… cut taxes on the rich and dont spend a dime on anything, right? where were you poeple when bush was spending this country into a coma for the last 8 years? you wingnuts havent had an original ideas for decades… leave the complicated stuff to people with an actual brain.
