Hall & Oates: “Adult Education”. Interesting imagery as well as props to contend a least. One of a some-more noted videos from my youth.

I wasn’t that crazy about this song when it first came out, but listening to it now, I think it is a really good song. The video is very displaced though.

I can almost hear the converstion between Oates and the director. Oates-”Couldn’t we just do this in a high school with some good looking tenagers?” Director – “No we’re going for something that has nothing to do with the song, dumbass” Oates – “OK, just don’t make me look like an idiot” Director – “Sure Oatey”

This is a great song no doubt but an awfully embarrassing video. It is epic bad. Oates makes a fool of himself big time. How does he live with himself? Hall and Oates definitely look like a couple of sweethearts in this one, and not the flattering kind.

If this came out at about the time of “Mad Max, Beyond Thunderdome”, then that might explain the effect the director was going for…

I’d have to say is about teens (16-18) pursuing their first lay. I was 18, for no other reason than that’s when I scored. Also about things seeming so permanent and such a big deal at the time. But they ain’t…
As for the imagery in the vid, no idea.

Other than the video having nothing to do with the song, can someone tell me what this song is about?.
