How much education is needed in order to become a Film Director/Producer?

I’m writing a career day essay and since I would love to become a Film Director/Producer, I need to know how much education is needed. The school I am aming at is USC, if that helps at all. Also, anyone know what the pay is?
How much will the education be?

    If you get the right breaks you don’t need any college. However most directed usually get a four year degree.
