I’m not planning to become a journalist this is just for Boy Scouts. How much education is required to become a full-time journalist? Do you just need an associate’s degree?

It’s not like being a doctor or lawyer- you don’t need a specific amount of education to be a journalist. More likely what they are looking for is experience. You get experience working at your school paper, your college newspaper, your small-town paper, etc. then you can move your way up.

That said, a master’s in journalism from a top school is also a good way to get a good start in journalism. However, there is no set requirement for education to be a journalist. If you were a high school drop-out, that might raise some eyebrows and you would probably have to show that you are really smart and can write great articles. But, experience is the key.
