I’m in grade 11, age 16, female.
What secondary school (high school) courses should I be taking, and
What post secondary education should I receive to better my chances of getting hired as a cop?
I already have first aid and CPR training.
Any tips, and/or personal knowledge helps, thanks!

Math is more important than you would EVER think. All you really need is a High School Diploma and they’ll teach you whatever else you need to know, but there have been numerous controversies in the past couple years about supposed discrimination between black and white cadets because some people couldn’t pass the entrance test. I would appreciate it if you were able to do 5th grade word problems, but first aid and CPR are important, too. Where I live, as long as you are a minority (being a woman helps) and you can have 5 apples and give away 4 apples and come out with 1 apple, you’ll be hired–they need cops that badly.

you’re probably going to need some military backgroundound, so i would suggest the marines or the army… you’re going to need to know how to fight or handle a situation. if not that, then you’re going to need to know (obviously) how to fire a weapon, so i would suggest going to a shooting range and practicing. ask around, maybe someone knows where to go to practice. the type of education you’re going to need would probably be a high school deploma (obviously) and perhaps some collage degrees would help you on the way. every job always hiers well educated people or ex-military personell. they like smart people and they like physically fit people (since you’re wanting to go into the police force, i thought i’d throw that in there just to throw it in there, idk)

Usually police stations are most interested in criminal justice, psychology, & business majors, but they accept any and all majors. To learn more, check out the resource below.

just pop in a high GPA, and graduate, get some college education in Basic Law, and apply your heart out.
Be warned, you may need to take more than basic first aid and CPR training, and you’ll need gun training, and another part of the police officer training requires you get Maced and Tased, not necessarily in that order, or at the same time.

I’m pretty sure you only need a High School Diploma. They provide the rest of the training you need.
