I realize it may vary from state to state, but just in general, I’d like to know what the education requirements are and licensing too. Thanks.

One Response to “What is education and license requirements for podiatrist?”

  1. RLO Says:

You need a minimum of 90 semester hours of college but most all prospective students have college degrees. You can check out the website for the American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine (http://www.aacpm.org/html/careerzone/require.asp). There are 6 medical schools that offer the education; so 4 years of medical school followed by 3 years residency. A few states require more education before you can obtain your state licensing but usually you are good to go.
