if you have ever checked the Apple website, there is an area just for information on employment at apple, and you can find out about the Genius Bar. I think that if you wanted to work there, you would have to know applications that are used by common users everyday, and know errors and what to do in those situations. You will probably need to go to Apple’s workshops for training to become a genius bar worker.
Also i believe they send you to this certain college to learn about all the products and latest info.

The entry level genius job gets paid $17 dollars an hour and comes with a 401-K plan for full time workers. Any experience helps. Apple will review your resume, although not much training is required. Apple will then (possibly) grant you an interview where you are asked 20 technical questions, among other things.
